CORRESPONDENT, PRESENTER & NEWS EDITOR

February 2020 - Onwards

Since going freelance I’ve been a network news correspondent for domestic broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Reporting throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe, on the biggest stories for flagship programs including News at Ten, Breakfast, Today, PM and Good Morning Britain. For ITN I reported from across America for the 2020 Presidential Election.

Working for such an array of organisations I’ve developed into a confident and reliable on-air performer right across the news agenda. From covering terrorist attacks, court cases and state occasions, to the latest political developments and sporting events like the Olympics. I’m highly experienced in self-shooting the biggest stories and editing all my own material on tight deadlines. I’ve also acted as News Editor on the BBC’s busy home news desk.

For Reuters I’ve presented news and business programming, and reported for international outlets such as RTE, Newstalk Ireland, Radio New Zealand and Newstalk New Zealand. I regularly contribute to and present podcasted shows for Monocle Radio.

Additionally I’ve ran media training workshops and produced, presented, filmed and edited corporate content for businesses and organisations.

CORRESPONDENT

January 2018 - February 2020

In my previous role at the relaunched EuronewsNBC I was the only full-time correspondent working in the UK covering all areas of news and keeping an eye across events in Ireland too.

This role took me right around both countries covering major stories like Brexit, the Irish Abortion Referendum, the Salisbury poisonings, the second London Bridge attack and the 2018 Royal Wedding.

As a member of the Lobby I travelled with the Prime Minister to report from across Europe and to the G20s in Argentina and Japan.

EuronewsNBC had been pioneering fully self-shooting correspondents meaning all of my lives and packages were entirely self-produced, filmed and edited using the latest mojo kit. My approach was to use this technical nimbleness to take viewers behind the scenes in a more informal way to boost engagement, both onscreen and on digital platforms. This in turn made me comfortable broadcasting live in a range of challenging environments and situations.

In addition to my EuronewsNBC responsibilities I also broadcasted both live and scripted reports for NBC News appearing on Early Today, MSNBC and News Channel which feeds into over 200 regional US news affiliates.

SENIOR REPORTER

December 2016 - January 2018

My role at Global involved broadcasting on LBC national radio, LBC London News and on digital platforms. I reported across a wide range of briefs including crime, terrorism, social issues, royal affairs and several high-profile court cases.

In my first year on-air I covered terror attacks across the UK and in Barcelona, the 2017 General Election, Grenfell from the early hours, Brexit from around Europe, the French Presidential Election and accompanied London Mayor Sadiq Khan across India and Pakistan.

Additionally, I co-presented in studio on big events like the London Bridge attack and was first to break news of the Manchester bombing.

I also adapted my reports for bulletins across Global to suit the varying demographic audiences of Capital, Heart, Classic FM, Radio X, Gold and Smooth reaching 25.3 million listeners per week.

SENIOR PRODUCER

June 2014 - December 2016

My role at ITN’s ITV News involved field and package producing for all three daily national programmes with a particular emphasis on the flagship News at Ten. I worked in all areas of news across the UK and overseas and completed attachments with the Westminster and Arts & Entertainment bureaus.

I worked on special programming like the Brexit and Scottish referendums, Royal births, General Election 2015 and awards seasons. I also produced specific digital content like blogs, on-camera explainer video shorts and graphics for social media platforms.

PRODUCER & NEWS EDITOR

May 2012 - June 2014

In my role at the Westminster bureau I packaged and field produced, scripted programming, booked guests and wrote pieces for online. I also conducted pre-recorded interviews with a wide range of leading public figures including athletes, celebrities and senior politicians including every living Prime Minister.

I used Freedom of Information requests to pursue several of my own investigations which made air and were subsequently picked up by the national press and other broadcasters.

Fridays through to Sundays I served as News Editor at Millbank overseeing the weekend’s political output, associate producing the ‘Murnaghan’ show and planning coverage for the week ahead.
